Baker Richards and technology partner Jacobson Consulting Applications, Inc. (JCA) are delighted to announce a new collaboration with The Audience Agency. Together we will be delivering a key element of Audience Finder – an ambitious national programme to drive innovation in audience development.
Audience Finder is a major evidence-based initiative, funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England as part of the £3m Audience Focus strategic fund launched last year. It is an ambitious ‘Big Data’ project for the arts designed to develop collective understanding of audiences and public impact to inform effective planning, collaboration and advocacy. This undertaking will create the most complete picture of arts audiences in England and the box office data-sharing platform will be developed by Baker Richards in partnership with JCA.
Over the last year The Audience Agency has been working directly with the cultural sector to build a national grid of individual cultural organisations through location-based or art-form clusters across England. Over 200 organisations are currently engaged, with another 500 consulted through the preliminary phase of development. Individual organisations are invited to join Audience Finder alongside or as part of existing clusters, with more information on how to join available on the new website launched today at www.audiencefinder.org.
Audience Finder is a combined data-sharing and capacity development programme. Analysis combines customer and behavioural data fed from box office systems, online interactions and a primary research survey exploring motivations and opinions. This will enable the shaping, sharing and comparing of market intelligence through a free, easy to use online resource analysing existing and new audience data. This will enable participating organisations to better understand existing audiences and non-attenders in order to make effective business decisions.
This new collaboration is underpinned by extensive experience in the cultural sector, a commitment to an open data ethos and a collective approach to understanding and growing audiences. Anne Torreggiani, joint Executive Director, The Audience Agency said:
